Richard Shippee is in his fourth decade of a career in corporate and marketing communications which has seen him direct sales staffs, publish consumer and trade magazines, direct enormous events and small conferences, direct the publishing programs of three national associations, join the founding team of a Silicon Valley start-up, and play a senior role in the public relations and marketing communications functions of nationally known consulting and accounting firms. From sales, to management, from coaching to lead practice marketing, from media relations to guest lecturing, Richard has a wealth of experience and expertise.
A New England native, a graduate of Tufts University, Shippee’s career has taken him from Boston to New York to Silicon Valley and back. One constant has always been his ability to write well – for many different audiences. Examples include: Articles, releases, op-eds, blog posts, speeches, and collateral copy – the gamut of marketing and corporate communications. Often these assignments are in conjunction with senior executives with whom he acts as coach and trusted advisor.
A Manhattan resident, theater and music lover, fervent but poor golfer, Shippee’s professional mantra has always been, “The answer is always ‘no’ unless you ask.”
